The Public Prosecution in Sheikh Zayed issued a criminal order against actor Ahmed El-Sakka, fining him 200 Egyptian pounds (£100). His ex-wife, Maha El-Sagheer, accused him of assaulting her inside a famous compound in Sheikh Zayed, Giza Governorate, Egypt.
A judicial source revealed that the Public Prosecution, after reviewing the case documents and determining that the crime was a minor misdemeanor or a violation that did not warrant referral to court, issued a criminal order pursuant to Articles 323 to 330 of the Criminal Procedure Code. The order stipulates that the fine be limited to 200 Egyptian pounds, without referring the accused to a trial before a judge.
Media personality Maha El-Sagheer and her driver filed an official report at the Zayed Police Station, accusing her ex-husband, actor Ahmed El-Sakka, of assaulting them with verbal and physical abuse, in an incident that occurred inside a compound in 6th of October City, according to the report.
According to the complainants’ account, the incident began as Maha El Sagheer and her driver entered the compound. They were surprised by actor Ahmed El Sakka’s car suddenly blocking their path, attempting to prevent them from entering, causing confusion.
Article 323 of the Egyptian Criminal Procedure Code states: “If the Public Prosecution deems that the crime does not warrant a penalty more severe than a fine, it may request the court to issue a criminal order imposing only a fine.”
