Egypt International Badminton Championship Kicks Off Today in Its 10th Edition

The 10th edition of the Egypt International Badminton Championship gets underway this morning at the Police Sports Union Hall in Cairo’s Al-Darrasa district, running from October 14 to 18.
This year’s tournament features players from 28 countries, including Algeria, Canada, Croatia, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, England, France, Hungary, India, Italy, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Mauritius, Myanmar, the Netherlands, Pakistan, Poland, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, Uganda, and host nation Egypt.
The technical meeting was held on Monday evening at a Cairo hotel, with the participation of representatives from all delegations and the Egyptian Badminton Federation, to finalize tournament regulations and announce the official draw.
Hadia Hosny, President of the Egyptian Badminton Federation, announced that the total prize money amounts to $10,000, distributed across five categories: men’s singles, women’s singles, men’s doubles, women’s doubles, and mixed doubles.
Hosny noted that this year’s event promises fierce competition, as it is part of the Badminton World Federation’s official calendar, and results will count toward players’ world ranking points.
