Preparations Underway for 2025 Parliamentary Elections for Egyptians Overseas

As part of preparations for the upcoming 2025 House of Representatives elections, Ambassador Nabil Habashi, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration, and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs, held a series of coordination meetings on October 20 and 21 with Counselor Ahmed Bendari, Executive Director of the National Election Authority, in the presence of Egyptian ambassadors and heads of sub-committees in embassies and consulates worldwide.
The meetings focused on logistical and organizational arrangements for the voting process of Egyptians abroad, as the election dates draw near.
According to the official timetable, Phase One will take place on November 7–8, covering 14 governorates, while Phase Two will be held on November 21–22, covering 13 governorates.
If required, run-off rounds will be conducted on December 1–2 for the first phase and December 15–16 for the second.
During the discussions, Counselor Bendari reviewed the regulations and procedures governing expatriate voting and commended the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Egypt’s embassies and consulates for their efforts to enable citizens abroad to exercise their constitutional right to vote in the parliamentary elections.
Ambassador Habashi affirmed that all Egyptian embassies and consulates are fully prepared to receive voters and provide all necessary facilities to ensure a smooth and transparent electoral process.
He emphasized that this comes in line with the directives of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration, and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs, to give top priority to this national event and encourage broad participation from Egyptians abroad — reflecting the state’s commitment to inclusive political engagement and empowering citizens to contribute to national decision-making.
