President Directs Health Minister to Visit Football Icon Hassan Shehata in Hospital

Egypt’s Minister of Health and Population, Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, who also serves as Deputy Prime Minister, visited football legend Hassan Shehata in hospital on Thursday.
The visit came under direct instructions from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to check on the former national team coach’s health condition.
Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population, said the minister conveyed the president’s greetings and wishes for a speedy recovery to Shehata.
He added that all necessary medical care has been provided and that the ministry is closely monitoring his condition until his full recovery and discharge from hospital.

Hassan Shehata is considered one of Egypt’s most iconic football figures. As head coach of the Egyptian national team, he led the Pharaohs to an unprecedented achievement — winning three consecutive Africa Cup of Nations titles in 2006, 2008 and 2010, a record unmatched in African football history.
His current health condition has drawn wide public attention, reflecting the deep respect he enjoys among both officials and fans for his extraordinary contribution to Egyptian football.
