Egypt’s Consul General in Milan Holds Meeting with Egyptian Associations

Ambassador Walid Osman, Egypt’s Consul General in Milan, held a wide-ranging meeting with Egyptian associations in the city, attended by a large number of community members. The gathering aimed to review the services provided by the consulate and Egypt’s labor representation office in Italy.
The consul general emphasized that, under the guidance of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Minister of State for Emigration and Egyptians Abroad, the consulate is preparing new plans and initiatives to enhance consular services and strengthen engagement with the second generation of Egyptians in Italy. He highlighted the Foreign Ministry’s commitment to offering full support to Egyptians abroad, maintaining their ties with the homeland, and improving digital services to simplify consular procedures.
The Role of Labor Representation in Italy
Labor Counselor Dr. Saeed Hegazy outlined the responsibilities of the labor office, stressing its role in raising awareness among Egyptian workers about occupational safety. He also pointed to Egypt’s efforts to expand the presence of highly trained Egyptian workers in the Italian labor market, through cooperation protocols between Egypt and Italy that focus on training workers according to accredited standards and requirements.
The meeting underscored the importance of coordination between the consulate and Egyptian associations in Italy to strengthen communication with the diaspora, address community needs, and create new opportunities for skilled Egyptian labor in European markets.
